About us

We believe in a society where no one should have to suffer in silence. Green Ribbon exists to create visibility, support, and open conversations about mental health.

The Initiative: Green Ribbon Sweden

Green Ribbon Sweden is run by Understand – The Foundation Against Mental Ill-Health, a non-profit organisation dedicated to combating mental health problems and breaking the stigma that many still face. Through our Green Ribbon campaign, we aim to create a symbol of hope, support, and awareness — a symbol that reminds us of the importance of mental health and solidarity.

Our Vision

Our vision is a society where no one has to suffer in silence due to mental health issues. Through education, awareness, and support, we strive to change attitudes and foster a positive dialogue around mental health. We want to break the stigma and encourage people to seek help — without shame.

We Spread Awareness About Mental Health

Reducing stigma and promoting positive attitudes around mental health requires knowledge. We strive to share that knowledge — while also inspiring and empowering people to meaningfully support those around them who are struggling. Together, we can make a difference.

We Advocate for Mental Health in the Workplace

How does mental ill-health affect your employees — and your bottom line? What can employers do to show they genuinely care about their employees’ well-being, on a deeper level? And how can the world of work act credibly and contribute to shedding light on this major social issue?

What are companies doing to take a stand and build a strong workplace culture where open conversations and well-being are prioritised?

The workplace is a key arena for reducing stigma — The Public Health Agency of Sweden
